Cannabis farm seized in Fallin house
20 JulyPolice have raided a cannabis farm in a house in Polmaise Crescent, seizing nearly 500 plants worth around £90,000.
A 31-year-old-man is due to appear from custody today (Wednesday, July 20) at Stirling Sheriff Court.
The raid on Monday night is the third major seizure of cannabis plants in Central Scotland Police's patch this month. Similar plantations were found in houses in Windsor Drive, Falkirk, on July 1 and Singers Place, Dennyloanhead, on July 12. In total, 1400 plants worth nearly £400,000 have been seized.
Detective Inspector Charlie Mitchell, head of the Drugs and Organised Crime Unit, said: "We are working hard to break the networks of those behind cannabis cultivations but we need the public to keep working with us. Typically these cannabis cultivations are found in rented property. We need neighbours of properties being rented to report anything suspicious. In particular if windows are blacked out and there appears to be nobody visiting or leaving the house. Another sign may be people arriving at unusual times.
"To those who are renting property your suspicions should be aroused if you are offered payment by cash - make sure a direct debit or standing order is used."
